2-5 JULY - The second bi-annual Wallace National Piano Competition brings together 16 of New Zealand's best young pianists, competing for prizes totalling $20,000.  Each contestant plays two 30-minute programmes before adjudicator Andrew Ball selects four finalists to perform in the Grand Final being held at the Auckland Town Hall Concert Chamber on 5 July.

Prize winners will also be considered for a performance with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Bach Musica and a tour with Chamber Music New Zealand as well as a $500 prize offered by SOUNZ for the best performance of a NZ music piece.
