NONOKA OHTA

Nonoka Ohta is a Year 13 student at Takapuna Grammar School, receiving lessons with Monica Chang and Gemma Lee through the school's itinerant music programme. Nonoka is actively involved in musical ensembles within and outside of school, including the West City Jazz Band, West City Youth Concert Band and the Takapuna Grammar School Concert Band. She is also an avid piano accompanist and has been working with two Takapuna Grammar School choirs since the beginning of this year. Other musical highlights include receiving the Piano Accompaniment Award at the Hata Junior High School Chorus Festival in Japan, the Best Brass Player Award at Takapuna Grammar School, and an Excellence Endorsement in NCEA Music in 2020. Nonoka is passionate about all things piano and looks forward to seeing where music will take her in the future.
